Inbound Lead Qualifier Agent with Claude
A Claude agent that reads every new form submission, researches the company, scores it against weighted ICP rules and routes it to the right rep with a Slack alert. 25/25 leads routed correctly in ~20 seconds each.
The Problem
Inbound leads sit in a queue until someone reads them, and every rep scores them differently. Hot leads wait hours for a reply, bad-fit leads waste sales time, and there is no consistent record of why a lead was routed where it was.
The Solution
Built a Claude agent with six tools that qualifies every lead the moment it arrives. Claude decides which ICP rules match and quotes the evidence from the form and its research; code turns those matches into a score, tier, route and rep assignment. Guardrail hooks check Claude's answer against the form facts before anything is written, so a wrong answer is blocked and Claude corrects itself. Every run is logged with cost and token usage. In testing, 25/25 leads were routed correctly across every edge case (hot accounts, enterprise, students, vendors, a competitor, spam, duplicates, out-of-region) at ~20 seconds and ~$0.06 per lead.
How It Works
New form submission lands in the Airtable Leads table
Agent checks for duplicates and existing accounts (check_account, mark_duplicate)
Agent researches the company (research_company)
Claude reads the 16 weighted ICP rules and picks the ones that match, quoting evidence for each
Deterministic code computes the score, tier, route and assigned rep from those matches
Guardrail hook validates Claude's answer against the form facts before any write; bad answers are blocked and corrected (in testing it caught Claude inventing a rule name, and Claude corrected itself)
Result is written back to the CRM (submit_qualification) and the rep gets a Slack alert
Each run is logged to a Processing Runs table with cost and token usage
