Summit Ops MCP Server: Talk to Claude, Run Your Business
A custom MCP server that lets a service-business owner run day-to-day work by chatting with Claude, while business rules in code decide what Claude is allowed to change. 20/20 conversation evals passed twice with 0 unsafe writes.
The Problem
Owners of service businesses live in their CRM but can't quickly answer simple questions like who owes them money or which jobs can move. A generic CRM connector would give Claude the keys to the whole database, with nothing stopping a wrong or unsafe change.
The Solution
Instead of raw database access, Claude gets a job description: eight business tools (four reads, three previews, one confirm) and ten business rules enforced in code. There are no delete tools and no free-text customer messages. Every write is previewed, needs the owner's yes, expires after 10 minutes, and is rejected if the record changed since the preview. It passed 20/20 conversation evals on two separate runs with 0 unsafe writes, plus 81 unit and flow tests and 36/36 live Airtable checks, at ~2¢ and ~7 seconds per conversation.
How It Works
Owner asks Claude a question in Claude Desktop, e.g. "Who owes us money right now?"
Claude calls read tools freely: search_customers, get_jobs, get_unpaid_invoices, get_schedule
For changes, Claude calls a preview tool: propose_reschedule, propose_discount or propose_payment_reminder
The server checks the business rules (no double-booking, tech hours and service area, discount cap of 10%, approved reminder templates, max one reminder per 7 days) and returns a before/after preview; nothing changes yet
Asked for 50% off, the server refuses at the 10% cap and Claude offers 10% instead
Owner says yes → Claude calls confirm_action
Server re-checks expiry (10 min), that the record hasn't changed, and re-runs the rules, then writes to the CRM
Every read, preview and write is recorded in the audit log
