The Problem
The client was manually creating Stripe invoices for every new customer and software license purchase. Existing customers were being duplicated, payments were delayed, and the team spent hours each week on repetitive billing tasks that should have been automated.
The Solution
Built a Zapier automation that detects whether a customer already exists in Stripe before processing. If found, it generates an invoice directly. If not, it creates the customer first, then processes payment. Integrated with Keygen to pull software license details automatically — ensuring every transaction is accurate without manual data entry.
How It Works
New purchase triggers the Zapier workflow via webhook
System checks Stripe for existing customer by email
If customer exists → generate invoice immediately
If new customer → create Stripe customer record first
Pull license details from Keygen API automatically
Invoice sent to customer — zero manual steps
